La fièvre Obama

The Obama fever
Automatically translated into English thanks to WorldLingo
Tuesday January 20, 2009. This date will remain surely marked in the spirit of people, not only of the United States, but of everywhere on planet: first black elected with the American presidency. And then, it should not be forgotten that it is also Hawaien and was high in Indonesia!!! It one is sacrré blow with American nationalism. And yet, Obama seems to bring together the Americans in a exeptionelle way. In spite of its origins, which constitute nevertheless a richness, it knows called with the nationalism and it seems that all will be ready to follow it during this time of crisis.

“The American Dream,” no matter who can carry out what he wants, provided that he has the will of it, is incarnated in the person of Obama. If Obama could go there, then perhaps that the United States corresponds really the promised ground towards which the first colonists, a few centuries ago, went? Always it is that, failing to deliver the ground of all its sins, Obama can bring the hope.

Today, the whole Earth seems much more optimistic. Esprérons how this optimism will be able to last!

Merry Christmas
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

December 24th 2008. Christmas eve. New Year in a week or so. Wow!
I've never liked taking resolutions. I know that after a week or two, they fall apart. If I feel there's something I really need to change, I don't wait for the new year, I just change it right away.

However, when I look back at the past year, I can't help but tell myself that I really hope 2009 wont be as 2008. I hope that, one year from now, I will be able to look at how the world evolved in 2009 and be proud. Good luck!

In the mean time, Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad.

If the new year does not bring peace to the world,m ay it at least bring it to your heart and family.

Love

Corinne

Cabinet-Youth Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Hey everyone!

I was just appointed as the Cabinet Youth Minster of Foreign Affairs and International Relations. This is par of the Youth Government of Canada.

Youth Government is a pretty new organization. And so, I will be initiating all the projects related to Foreign Affairs and International Relations. I'm interested in knowing what are your dreams. Wether you are Canadian or not, which initiatives would you like us to have and what do you think should be our goals. I have ideas of mine, but I said, I'm interested in knowing what other people think!

Thank you!

Publicity in the Canadian Federal Elections
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Canadian Federal elections will be held on October 14. Parties are desperately trying to get more votes. Competition between parties during this election is pretty intense. However, There's something wrong quite wrong in the process.

When you look at the media, all the publicity is about criticizing the other party and depicting its leader as some sort of villain whose policies will completely destroy Canada as we know it. Personally I am tired of this. Instead of having meaningful discussions and debates, which would lead to a greater understanding of politics and perhaps even less cynicism towards the actual political system, we candidates insulting each other. Really, I feel like I'm back in kindergarten.

If criticizing and insulting the other is all what our political leaders know how to do, then we are in serious trouble. I fear that this will keep us from getting new and original ideas and solutions to problems. I fear that people will stop voting because Canadian politics will have lost all credibility. Instead of always looking at what the other party did wrong, tell us what you will do right!

Political debate
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

I've been trying for over two weeks now to organize a political debate at my college. Considering that I'm giving them a huge favour by allowing them to reach a whole body of electors, I wonder why they've been giving me such a hard time!!! Its so frustrating. Anyway, its mostly organized now and I just hope that after all the sweat I put into this, that there will be a bug turnout!
